Route 666 Powers and Monster Info

Andrew kept three canon powers from his ghostly curse upon arrival.

☠︎︎ The curse + general stuff - the curse itself has a couple of distinct feelings for Andrew, the intensity of which changes depending on location and ghostly activity. It's generally described as a feral feeling in his chest or bones, or itching/a gnawing sensation in his joints or skin. It can also be a chill in the pit of his stomach, ghostly tendrils, or 'oily streaks' in his blood (not literal streaks, of course). The power gets restless at times, frustrated with Andrew refusing to use it or pay attention to it, and he does consciously keep it reined in, though keeping it locked up becomes harder when he's in places where a lot of death has happened. On the flip side, letting the power out of its box feels good, it's a rush, and even letting it out a little, where it's just existing, can drop the temperature in a room or area around him, accompanied by an unnerving feeling for anyone in that area, like a very primal fear. (When being used, the power's also detectable by psychics or anyone with ghost sensitivities.)

☠︎︎ Seeing + hearing ghosts - whether or not Andrew holds his power in check, it gives him the ability to see and hear ghosts--which he hates. He and Eddie refer to the spirits as haunts or shades, and sometimes revenants. Haunts are the typical ones, not necessarily human shaped, but humanoid enough, while shades seem to be weaker haunts, less human shaped, sometimes more like puddles of darkness. Revenants are the bad ones, the most human shaped, the loudest and most active, but usually even they aren't physically dangerous. All of them come with unsettling feelings and unintelligible whispers, and if they have the chance, some of them try to pry into Andrew's dreams to share their bloody memories. He's gotten used to working on keeping them out, and generally follows the rule of ignoring them altogether. Haunts, and especially revenants, become stronger when someone pays attention to them--and worse still if they manage to feed on living blood.

☠︎︎ Sensing lingering death - if a lot of people have died in a location, the curse will tune into the energy of that death and make Andrew aware of it. It's really not pleasant for him, because it tends to be a concentration of horrible feelings and negative energy. To make it worse, the power inside of him generally wants to tap into the energy of all that death and feed on it. (To what extent? Unsure! Probably just charges it like a battery.) Andrew has to try even more to keep the power in check, of course, and is usually successful. Tying into this, he can also tell if someone's in poor health and close to death themselves, seeing a dark miasma around them--similar to what he picks up from places with death, like graveyards.

☠︎︎ Corpse puppeteering - regained in October - The curse's ability to let him puppeteer corpses. It's not strong enough to manipulate an entire body, unless it's small, like small animals or creatures. Otherwise it's just a single limb at a time that can be controlled and gets moved about.

⛧ Additional entirely canine form, can switch in and out of at will (starting trait) - active since October '25, form detailed below

⛧ Fire breath, either at will or when emotional (starting trait) - active since September '25, absolutely going to be emotional for a long while

⛧ Baleful howl, fills others with fear and dread. Can also become damaging if protracted, shattering glass and pushing people and objects back (starting trait) - active since November '25

⛧ Doom echo: can hear voices of the deceased if in an area associated with death. Graveyards, battlegrounds, etc. Voices tend to be indistinct and like hearing a crowd of people talk (trait purchased in October) - inactive so far

⛧ Loyalty compulsion: compelled to pick out a handful of people and faithfully guard them and follow their orders (trait purchased in December) - inactive so far

⛧ Fire Resistance: also has a slightly increased body temperature to go along with it (trait purchased in January) - active since January '26

⛧ His sigil is on his back, near the top of his left shoulder--so, just above the top of the scar that runs from shoulder to hip

Pointed ears (starting trait) - active since the July '25 TDM

Sharp claws capable of shearing through bone (starting trait) - active since the July '25 TDM

⛧ Extra eyes/mouths/heads. They may grow from the shoulders or face, or be elsewhere on the body. He has four extra eyes only while in canine form - (trait purchased in October) - active since October '25

⛧ Serpentine scales/tail, or canine tail. He's got the scales, specifically. He has pitch black scales, slick-shiny and smooth, over the tops of both his shoulders, down the right side of his chest from his shoulder over the center of his chest and over his heart, and down the outsides of his upper-arms. He also has scales on the sides of his hips. All of them have a pattern of golden cracks, kintsugi. He only has the scales in human form and not in his canine form - (trait purchased in December) - active since December '25 - pic ref for the kintsugi pattern (just imagine it on black scales)

⛧ Canine form - With the general height and overall size of a wolf or great dane, he was very long-legged, all black except for red tufts of fur in his tall ears. He had four extra eyes, two more on either side, close to his regular eyes, and rather than blue, they were golden-brown (starting trait) - active since October '25 - pic ref (art credit)

Horns of any number and style. His horns curl around the sides of his head and are the color of an oil slick; black with glints of rainbow colors when they catch the light. He only has the horns in human form and not his canine form - (trait purchased in December) - active since January '26

Bone growths on his body, in the form of spines, or in the form of visible bones or skull. TBD, will only be in canine form though - (trait purchased in January) - inactive so far
