SPECIES: Human
IN CHARACTER
PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Absolutely. Andrew thrives with physical contact. He loves it.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Yup! Andrew's not afraid of fighting. Injuries are okay, but for anything more than something mild, ie broken bones, etc, let's talk about it first. I'd prefer no death or killing.
RELATIONSHIPS: Someone please romance this boy. He's gay and prefers guys around his age, though a bit of a gap either way isn't a deal breaker.
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Absolutely! He has zero resistance to mind-reading/telepathy, just give me a heads up so I can hash out his thoughts.
MAGICAL INFORMATION: Andrew's human but was made the recipient of an old ass ghostly curse at the age of 12. Really, he was collateral; the ghosts wanted his best friend (Eddie Fulton) to accept the curse, since the Fultons have had it for generations. But where Eddie went, so did Andrew. It was a traumatic incident, and it took him a long while to adjust to having a range of ghost and death related powers. He also hasn't experimented with what he can do the way Eddie had, so he's clumsier and uncertain, but a lot of their magic is intent and symbolism, so he doesn't necessarily have to understand how to do something.
∞ He can see and interact with the remnants of the deceased, spirits that are referred to as 'haunts' and 'revenants'. The haunts appear as dark shadows that are vaguely humanoid, and they tend to whisper and hiss unintelligibly. They also attempt, at times, to pry into Andrew's dreams with their memories, so he's had to learn how to keep them out. They're more or less harmless, but frightening and unsettling. However, haunts can become dangerous when given attention, and even more dangerous when fed blood.
∞ He can sense lingering death, ie, if a lot of people have died in a location, and if someone living is in poor health and close to death themselves, in the form of seeing a dark miasma aura around them.
∞ His power can be used to sort of 'commune' with a location to find out if something death related happened there. This usually involves him making direct contact with something death has touched, ie, blood soaked ground, a place that held a body, etc. It's generally highly unpleasant for him though, because information is given to him via memories.
∞ When he uses his power, it's absolutely noticeable by people with psychic abilities (like Riley) and the feel of it is unnerving and creepy. He doesn't even have to use it in a large way for it to be noticeable; just loosening the tight control he keeps on it a bit is enough.
∞ There's a bunch of little stuff that I'm not sure how to categorize beyond like 'that horror movie vibe'. Sometimes, when Andrew uses his power, it's implied he could smother the illumination of lights with shadows. There was also a different bit, shown with Eddie's power specifically, but probably something Andrew could do, too, and that is: more horror movie-esque bullshit. At a high school party, someone brought a Ouija board and Eddie decided to flex. He kept the same tight hold on his power Andrew does, but a little relaxing invited in a lot of ghostly energy, plunging the room into a chill and some sort of primal feeling that freaked everyone out. And then the planchette cracked in half. So, not particularly helpful, who knows the level of 'dangerous', but something that feels somewhat close to manipulating shadows.
∞ He can be physically hijacked by the dead at times and led to where they want him to go, though this seems to be strictly unique to Eddie's revenant. Since Eddie carried the curse himself, and his family line's the one tied to it, he's much different and stronger than run of the mill revenants. (He's also much more himself than any other haunt that Andrew's ever encountered.)
∞ Andrew's version of the curse is weaker than Eddie's, stronger when they're together (sort of like Eddie's power feeds into Andrew's and charges it when they're together) and weaker still when they're apart. It's also weaker for him with distance from Tennessee, where the cursed Fulton land is. Not weak enough to make Andrew forget it's there, but enough where he got used to it being more manageable, and was unprepared for the intensity of haunts back in Tennessee.
∞ There's something with being able to use the curse to heal injuries, which is what saved Andrew and Eddie in the first place, and what Eddie tried to do before he died, but, it seems to only really work when they're together. Even though Eddie noted that his power was stronger away from Andrew, he wasn't able to heal his wounds on his own. Andrew never utilizes this possibility, himself.
∞ Something that Andrew doesn't really mess around with very much, but definitely spooks him the first time, is the fact that he seems able to puppeteer corpses. It's not anything remotely like a proper reanimation, rather more like the curse pours some energy into a dead thing and makes it move. He does this once very vaguely on his own with the result being the slightest twitch, though of course he wasn't really trying. Later on, near the end when he's joined with Eddie's revenant, he can do much more, and much more easily, at that.
∞ He can share this curse with others through a process that involves intent, mixing blood, and some sort of chanting. Andrew doesn't know the words, but that wouldn't stop things, because Eddie hadn't known the words the ghosts made him chant, either. It's also possible to only pass on a little bit of the curse, which he did accidentally with Sam near the end of canon events, giving him just enough to make him vaguely aware of haunts.
∞ Near the very end of canon events, he obtains a small variety of new powers from being joined with Eddie's revenant and letting it inside of him, allowing him to see someone's life force and how strong it is via an aura. He also gains the ability to basically consume someone's soul/life-force and kill them. Eddie's revenant can also just talk with his own voice through Andrew, which is a trip and a half for everyone. Andrew probably won't be played at this point, but this is here for reference.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: He's got a gnarly scar that runs the length of his back, left middle, that he describes as 'looking like someone tried to pull his spine through his skin crooked'. He's also likely got some low-key anxiety going on, which he never acknowledges but absolutely reads as such.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Homophobia and bigotry are the big things that set Andrew off. In addition, there are a few subjects that could come up with him; drugs (he will/has tried pretty much anything, from weed to hard drugs), smoking, alcohol, and his best friend's murder. I'll warn for the drugs and stuff, and if any detail's given on the murder bit. There's also the fact Eddie was legally his sibling, due to Andrew's family adopting him per the Fulton's will when he and Eddie were 13. Andrew never talks about this and never considered Eddie his brother, but the legal fact remains.
